Feb. 05, 2016 while cooking pizza last night in the oven, the bottom element caught on fire and just kept melting the element, It was shooting sparks and smoke coming out everywhere. This is the 2nd time in a year and a half that the tubing on the water dispenser has failed. You would think that a $2500 frig would have copper lines near the compressor to prevent becoming brittle and cracking due to the heat. we used the cook top sparingly and hardly cook at home. .Less than 3 months one of the control knob does not turn. I do not remember I had used that burner more than 3 times. I thought it was because of cleaning when some liquid spilled on the knob. My experiences with the narrow neck GE candelabra base bulbs have been extremely bad. These bulbs often burn out in only 2 or 3 days. It's abundantly clear to me that General Electric is intententionally sacrificing quality out of greed for higher profits. GE service repair has treated my family unfairly. We have Mongram refrid and freezer. We called for service and they came out and told us to defrost our freezer unit and they would come back. On the day of repair (12/29/15) after we defrosted our huge freezer they called at 9AM to tell us they would not service our house. I replaced a GE Wall Oven that had problems with another GE. My mistake! This oven is worse. I got it several months ago and noticed an inability to produce any kind of baked product successfully. On 12/3/15 , they were supposed to come from 1-5 . I called sever times to verify , with a 15 min hold each time. At 5 they called and said he would not make it. And would I like to reschedule , next Saturday .. I was fuming , all they said was , so call our consumer complaint department. .. They don't give a ***. I sat for 4 hours. Same issue as others with knobs melted and I actually burned my fingers! Since I burned my fingers from the hot knobs, GE said it was a safety issue and sent a serviceman to my home. He saw the melted knobs and said he was sorry I burned my fingers. The end result: "Sorry there is nothing we can do for you because the reading is within the regulated range."
