Two days ago the power went out to my house. After a hour and half the power came back and we smell an odor as burn plastic.

We started to search the origin and found nothing. After a half hour my wife noticed heat came from range. Any of the *** were in on position either any light indicator were on. Only the clock display blinking.

When I opened the oven door we noticed that the elements were on, they were red. I turned the breaker off and left to cool. When it was cool I switched the breaker on and the events started heat. I made a troubleshooting disconnecting the oven control board but for my surprise after throw the breaker the elements goes on again.

Since we need to use the range top, I decided to disconnect the elements from the main terminal block. As of today, I really have no idea what is the root cause but I'm sure this is a safety hazard.

Thanks God we were at home to disconnect it. If you have one of this model be aware.

I have the same problem. I smell something like burning plastic and the stove top was on high heat. Turned off the breaker, back on and the "hot" surface indicator is stuck on.
