I am so very disappointed in GE and their products. We purchased a GE washer and dryer from Sears just 2.5 years ago - model # WDRR2500k3ww.

Last week, the washing machine failed to stop filling while we werent home and flooded 2 floors of our house. We are in the middle of getting new wood floors, new ceilings, new walls, new carpets...it's a nightmare. All because the washing machine...which is only a couple years old...was faulty and I am so disappointed in what I thought was a really good brand my whole life. The insurance company tested the washer again and it does in fact just continuously keep filling with water and never stops.

And sadly, the actual faulty appliance is not covered by insurance so we need to purchase a new one. So sad that a company as well known as GE would make such poor products. We now have a GE dryer and have to purchase a new washing machine. We are looking at other brands like LG and Whirlpool but I hate that fact that they will no longer be a matching set for whenever we decide to sell our home down the road.

There is no reason that an appliance you spend a good deal of $ on should break after just 2 years...it's unacceptable. I have always purchased GE products for our homes and after watching it completly ruin our house, I am so upset and just shocked that a company I believed in before could make such cheap products for their consumers.

Monetary Loss: $500.

Location: Providence, Rhode Island

I have had the G.E. Top Loader Washer Model # WDRR2500K3WW for a total of 4 years.

My daughter calls me in a panic as I am driving on my way home from work stating that the whole basement has flooded and the washing machine will not stop filling. I am very disappointed in this product and I too have to buy a new washing machine due to the insurance stating I have to prove that this product is faulty by hiring a technician out of pocket.

My only saving grace is that I was able to minimize the mess by removing all of my furniture and valuables before the water could damage those items. The insurance company will replace all of my flooring and any sheet rock damage.

We have the same model and it too overflowed ( would not stop filling ) after about 2 1/2 years. We stopped using on "super" level, and it worked on "high" for another year. Then lid switch problems, and then finally the motor bearings went bad after less than 5 years use.
