General Electric in Morelia, Michoacán - Dryer problems twice in 2 1/2 yrs.

Bought dryer 2016 and right after 1 yr. timer goes out. Cost $268. Six mo. later drum has a grinding sound. Technician works 2 hrs. Doesn’t know if the part he put in will take care of problem. He thinks dryer was dropped and it took awhile for drum to start scraping sides. $185!!! Never will buy GE products again.

They are a joke. Everyone is rude, can’t do the job and if I could avoid using them thru a service contract I would. I think they need to clean up their act or quit the business. At least on dryers and techs that are rude and have no experience Desiree is the latest...

Recent I have a dryer from lowes for remodeling reason don't install the unit for couple of weeks, only worked for a week after installation, returned to store and they claim that their policy's is to send a manufacturer tech to repaired , awesome now I'm stock with this dryer that doesn't work less then two month of purchased 600 hundred dollars throughout the window really bad costumer service at this store Jose from costumer services a real pain the guy doesn't explains anything clear basically take the dryer walk way your problem now no money back no exchange , go to sears great costumer service and great warranty.Here is the proof of purchase so they at Lowes can save some words... Also

Did you even bother looking at the warranty that came with the dryer? It clearly states that they will REPAIR the dryer.

It doesn't say they will REPLACE it. Why are you complaining when they are offering to do exactly what the warranty calls for?

Brand New General Electric Dryer - 36 days and still can't use it

On 8/23/14 we took delivery of brand new GE dryer purchased from Home Depot in NH. We had an LP kit installed at our expense by a local gas company on 8/27/14. The gas company tried dryer and it did not work. 8/27/14 GE Authorized Repair man diagnosed problem over the phone, sight unseen and said he would bring the necessary part. 9/3/14 repairman arrived and failed to fix brand new dryer. Repairman said he would be back with another part. On 9/8/14 same repair man came out again, could not fix the brand new dryer and told us to send the dryer back he could not fix it. Now there has been numerous phone calls to numerous “managers” at Home Depot and the brand new dryer is not fixed. 9/22 GE repairman came to look at dryer. We have been getting mixed msgs on whether he can or cannot get part needed. He wants to schedule a 4th visit and we are asking for a new replacement dryer. Today is 9/29/14. GE will not take the non-working dryer back. We're supposed to wait around while they try to get a part. How can someone sell you something new and MAKE you keep it? We were offered $30 for our "laundry" expenses. I called again this morning asking for that repairman's supervisor. I was told I have to deal with the GE repairman because he's my "case manager". I have lost all hope and even if they do replace the dryer, this whole experience is totally unacceptable. A lot of incompetence and phone calls that resolve nothing. Our expenses are: cost of new dryer - $823,LP Kit - $69.99, Gas company fee - $264.88. I have filed with BBB, Consumeraffair.com and wrote to GE Corporate. No results yet. Never again will I buy from Home Depot or GE.
